Since it's #MostMuscularMonday and I have to still give you your #GiftOfTheWeek, here is a young @philheath at the 2008 Arnold Classic where Phil placed 2nd to @mrolympia08 Dexter Jackson in an impressive lineup of 15 Top IFBB Pros. Just...look at all that roundness!!!
Now... I want to address a topic here...
There will inevitably be those who will make comments here like "he was SOOO much BETTER back then!!!"
Think before you comment. Realize that the Top level IFBB Pros look the way they do for a reason. It's professional Bodybuilding, folks. These are competitors!!! They look the way they look to WIN shows. See, when Phil looked like this he placed 2nd in the Arnold and 3rd in the Olympia. Since gaining the mass and muscle maturity he has now he has won 6 consecutive Mr. Olympia titles. So...while YOU as an INDIVIDUAL may prefer how Phil looked in 2008...or how Jay looked in 1999...or how Ronnie looked in 1996...or how Dorian looked in 1988...these looks were never going to win the Olympia. That's just a fact. It's almost like saying something like "Frank Zane was way better than Ronnie Coleman!" Really? No. YOU may like that look better, perhaps you would rather look like Zane...and that's a fine opinion...but on any Bodybuilding stage in any country and at any time in history...if somehow 1979 Frank Zane were to posedown against 1999 Ronnie Coleman...c'mon!!!!
As amazing as Phi Heath looks here...and he looks damned amazing...he has only gotten tremendously BETTER AS A COMPETITIVE PROFESSIONAL BODYBUILDER!!! In fact, he's been the undisputed best in the world ever since September 17th, 2011.
